The Physician Association of California (PAC) is the voice of California’s small group practice and independent physicians. Our members are trusted community providers who provide critical access to care throughout the state. We work with all stakeholders to help deliver the best healthcare outcomes to patients around the state.

PAC members have a dedicated voice within the state capitol, championing crucial matters for independent physicians and their patients. PAC actively advocates for public policies that foster excellence in healthcare delivery across the entirety of California.

What We Do

Communicate

Discuss issues and legislation with a team of policy experts. PAC holds regular legislative policy briefings, board meetings and ad hoc meetings so members have a direct line of communication to PAC leadership, staff and policy experts. PAC ensures members receive timely and relevant insight to what is happening in state government that impacts their practice.

Participate

Help shape policy priorities for PAC. Involvement in PAC gives power to your voice within the association. Members are kept informed and asked to provide feedback on key issues within specific subject areas.

Engage

PAC monitors numerous legislative bills impacting independent physicians and small group practices, advocating on their behalf in areas like state budget, employment, administrative burdens, reimbursement, health IT, and more. Through legislative advocacy, briefings, and roundtable discussions with policymakers, PAC conveys the significant influence legislation and regulation can have on independent physicians, patients, and the broader healthcare system.

Stay Informed

Members have access to briefings and newsletters that keep you apprised of essential California policies that affect your practice. PAC’s membership portal provides members with exclusive access to legislative and regulatory advocacy letters sent to California Legislators and the Administration, our archive of newsletters and legislative/regulatory/political alerts, and more. PAC also provides timely and consistent related updates on X, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Collaborate

Share ideas along with a like-minded membership on independent physicians. PAC conducts regular listening sessions with its members and works with state leaders to help shape guidelines that have an impact on independent physicians, small practice groups, and their patients.
