Physician Association of California Congratulates Xavier Becerra as California’s Next Governor

The Physician Association of California (PAC), the sole association focused on protecting and advocating for its 15,000 independent and small-practice physicians throughout California, today congratulates Xavier Becerra on his election as California’s next governor.

“We are thrilled that California voters have chosen a leader who will fight to improve quality and access to healthcare,” said Dr. Omer Deen, Chair of the PAC Board of Directors. “Governor-elect Xavier Becerra brings a wealth of healthcare knowledge and experience. His leadership will be a tremendous asset to preserving the patient-doctor relationship in California and lowering healthcare costs.”

PAC endorsed Xavier Becerra, citing his long track record of improving healthcare. Becerra has served in Congress and is a former California attorney general and former U.S. Health and Human Services secretary. His accomplishments include helping write the Affordable Care Act (ACA), protecting coverage gains made under the ACA, fighting hospital consolidation and helping lower healthcare prices for patients nationwide.

PAC looks forward to working with Gov.-elect Becerra to maintain high-quality, patient-centered care across the state.
